Text in Japanese; a Foreword and a 23-page catalogue list of 399 items in English; 20 Development Plans listed in the catalogue are not among the plates. The foreword states the exhibition was organized to view the development of Chanoyu in three phases: Karamano Taste under Kitayama to Higashiyama reigns; Wabi Taste under the grand tea masters of Juko to Rikyu; thereafter. Nicely bound in red-orange textured wrappers. The top outside corner is bumped causing light creases to the page corners; light foxing to the top edge. Clean throughout.. Printed Wrapper (softcover). Pages of recipes for cocktails face pages with instructions for magic tricks suitable for performing at cocktail hour. Published the year after the end of Prohibition in the United States. Julien J. Proskauer (1893-1958) was an American magician; he was president of the Society of American Magicians in 1935 and 1936. In Very Good Condition: cover slightly rubbed and creased; clean and bright.

A very good edition in good tight binding. Applied with ex Librium label for "G.A. Tonge" to inside cover and inscribed "C.F. Tonge 81" to title page in fountain pen. Minor foxing, some tanning to endpapers. Includes a table of weight and measures. 223 pages. Undated, circa 1869.

Interior has partially removed Sabbath School bookplate and old seller's pencil note. Missing one front blank. All else complete. Dust jacket has very light edge and surface wear, with light wrinkling at the corners and spine ends. Front panel and spine of jacket are sunned, causing those areas to have a blueish tone to the background illustration of wood, instead of a reddish tone, Dust jacket is NOT price clipped. The Three Mountaineers, Inc. (Asheville, North Carolina). USA 1939. Tall 8vo. (9.4 x 5.9 inches). 54pp. Scores of small line drawings by Tad Shell throughout the text. In an unusual hand painted wooden board binding. The boards are attached on metal hinges. The text pages sewn in with leather ties through the wooden spine. The front board features a painted colour bird drinking from a glass, the outlines and the lettering burnt into the wood. A very good copy of this unusual cocktail book.

Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. xii, 263pp. Brown morocco, double gilt border, 5 raised bands, gilt decoration and lettering to spine. Light wear to corners and spine edges, original spine lettering still on spine, free endpapers darkened, text is mildly age-toned, and there is a faint 1/2 inch stain slightly visible on some page margins, text is otherwise clean and binding is tight. This book was evidently rebound using the morocco binding of the previously bound book, which still has its original title on it. The text block and marbled endpapers have been expertly re-attached to the original binding. The edges of the original marbled endpapers have been left are still visible along edges, and the foredges of the boards extend 1/2/ inch beyond the text block foredges,l and the spine lettering Both the binding and the interior of this early printing has been well-preserved.
