Illustrated with two full-page original color lithographs executed by Chagall for this work and printed by Mourlot, as well as 36 multi- color preparatory color designs transferred to stones under Chagall's supervision and printed by Charles Sorlier. The text was printed at the Imprimerie Nationale. A splendid overview of the various stages of Chagall's twelve stained glass window designs for the synagogue of the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Centre in Jerusalem.

The complete album as issued by the publisher. - Small word by Hermet, mainly on this publication, and ten orig. lithographs by Isabey, printed (recto only) on Bristol paper, which is an excellent paper for lithographic printing. These ten lithos are part of the 13 which Isabey provided for "Croquis par divers artistes", first published by Rittner and Osterwald aîné (Paris), and by Charles Tilt, London, ca. 1830. Very good copy of this rare suite of fashion plates by the prolific Louis-Marie Lanté
With 39 (of 47) hand-coloured fashion plates showing the elegant costumes of Parisian female workers and tradeswomen of the 1820s
No title page or text as usual.
It's likely that Lanté drew these women in the streets and stores of Paris as they went about their work. A student dancer strikes a pose, a presser irons lace cloth on a table, an art student carries a box of oil paints, and a sutler to the National Guard offers a dram. There is a maid, laundrywoman, chambermaid, servant and nanny. There are many modistes: a fashionable embroiderer, knitter, seamstress, straw-hat maker, dressmaker, milliner, cobbler, hair braider, cosmetic seller and a shopgirl. There are also many itinerant tradeswomen including a florist, crockery seller, oyster shucker, haberdasher, dairywoman and plaisir (sweet) seller offering their wares.

The last part of the Museo Fiorentino, an ambitious catalogue of the Medici collection of artworks published by Antonio Francesco Gori (1691-1757) and Francesco Moucke between 1731 and 1766. The first six volumes published from 1731-42 covered gems I-II, statues III and coins IV-VI. The Serie di Ritratti was issued as volumes VII-X and included superb facsimile engravings of the famous self-portraits now in the Uffizi Gallery.

According to the publisher's catalog, this edition comprised "200 exemplaires sur papier de Hollande au format in-folio, dont 25 avec les planches coloriées."
The etchings by A. Guillaumot Fils (Auguste Etienne Guillaumot Jr.) were made from theatrical costume designs by Eugene Lacoste and Draner for productions of the comic opera Les Merveilleuses (The Lady Dandies) (1873) by Sardou. The costumes were based on contemporary prints from the Revolutionary era.
Second edition with 30 plates plus portrait, following the first with only 20 plates in 1874. The Merveilleuses is set in Revolutionary France during the period of the Directoire, 1789-1804, where Royalist Parisian society is led by the Incroyables and Muscadins, ridiculous fops and dandies, and Merveilleuses, outrageous women wearing classical Roman- and Greek-inspired robes in see-through fabrics. First edition of one part of René Primevère Lesson's study of exotic birds in their natural habitat made aboard the Coquille on its world voyage, 1822-1825. As second surgeon on the scientific circumnavigation, Lesson was responsible for the botanical and zoological goals of the expedition. His work on hummingbirds was authorative. He described over 100 species of hummingbirds, out of the 330 known today, and his illustrations were copied by Sir William Jardine in his Naturalist's Library.
