With volume listing; black and white frontispiece of Gesner; black and white vignette title page; 2 further title pages; Publisher's advert (noting that this volume was produced 'early' - Marsupials had been due to be the next volume published); Memoir of Gesner; Introduction with black and white illustrations; text including synopsis and memorandum; and 32 plates bound at the rear. Of these 29 are hand coloured - the other 3 are a copy of a bas relief, a skeletal view, and a muscular view. The cloth binding is in very good condition having been expertly rebacked to retain the original spine. Pittsburgh, PA: National Stockman, 1889. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Folio. 1074 pages, indexed. A large, heavy volume measuring just over 15 inches tall by11 1/2 inches wide. Hardcover bound in 3/4 black leather with dark green marbled paper-covered boards. The binding is worn and scuffed and bumped. There is a horizontal tear in the leather about 5 1/2 inches up from the foot of the spine, and there is a crack in the leather along the front hinge from this split to the foot. The tear appears to be closed or glued, but it is not open. The binding itself is sound, and the text is generally clean. We have found a tear on the fore edge of one page extending a little into the text. Many of the issues have their orange covers (although not especially pictorial). Most of the covers have many advertisements. Most of the issues are not illustrated, although a few do have some an illustration, usually of a farm animal. Weighs just over 10 pounds. Scarce.

2007 second edition of True Horsemanship through Feel; the book is in beautiful as new condition except for an inscription, and the cover is great too except for tiny tiny corner bumps, and one corner (also small crease)...otherwise it looks like new, no scuffing nor edgewear. A very almost like new copy of a great book about living with horses.
