Blue cloth with stamped gilt titles and decorations. Unnumbered pages - our estimate is about 125. Half of the book is given in to congradulatory advertisements. There is some text covering some events and the history of the shul. It's charter is also reproduced. There are many black and white photographs. This book is very similiar in look and style to a yearbook. A paper cover has kept the book clean and in great condition. These books have a wealth of information bearing on genealogy and family, economic and social history, Jewish Law and the status of women. Jewish marriage contracts (Ketuba or Ketubbah) show the artistic taste of the lands in which Jews have resided. The Ketuba expresses the joy and jubilation of the marriage. The Ketubbah is a document recording the financial obligations which the husband undertakes toward his wife in respect of, and consequent to, their marriage, obligations which in principle are imposed on him by law. Most Jewish communities have followed the custom of decorating the Ketubbah. Includes marriage contracts from countries in the diaspora as disparate as India and Italy.

Sandro Fasini was a pseudonym for Kiev born artist Srul Aryevich Fainzilberg. S. Fasini was a Russian and French surrealist artist, illustrator, and photographer who trained at the Odessa Art School and died in Auschwitz in 1942. He was also known as Sandro Fazini, Alexander Fasini, and Srul Feinsilberg. He is remembered for his artistic contributions to cubism and surrealism.

She maintained her native Yiddish and has been a proponant of maintaining the tradition. She has received worldwide acclaim. There is very slight paper deterioration on the edge of the upper right corner, otherwise excellent and unread. Listed as near fine. There are 2 inscriptions on the front free end page, one by the author and one by Leon, who I think is her grandson. The book is inscribed to the late Frances Blatt, a friend and neighbor, who was violinist for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for 25 years. You get one antique Die Juden in Memmingen by Dr. Julius Miedel 1909 softcover book published by Otto in Germany. This item is in German. This book is in good overall condition with some wear to its covers and edges. The spine is cracked in the back and the last ten, or so, pages are attached by two of the threads, but are not completely loose. The foldout Guggenheimer family tree is still attached to the inside of the rear cover. The pages are clean, except for an etching of a church on the first page, and have slight tanning. Included free are a few old articles. There are no print copies available in WorldCat, This item is 8 inches tall by 5.5 inches wide.
