Bound in full modern sealskin with fur by John Field; Provenance: Library of Harry and Virginia Walton. Harry and Virginia Walton were lifelong residents of Covington, Virginia, a small town in the Allegheny Mountains. Harry was a graduate of Lynchburg College, and Virginia was a graduate of the Lynchburg General School of Nursing. The title page says that this is the 2nd edition - enlarged to cover the law concerning Landlords and Tenants. It is divided into several sections: Game; Tithes; Highways; Turnpike Roads; Fishing, fish-ponds, rivers etc; making and duty of Malt; making and selling of Cyder, mum and perry; and growing, bagging and duty of Hops; landlords and tenants; cattle; corn; hay; straw; timber and other trees; Butter and Cheese. In full leather binding which is in very good condition apart from some slight wear to the front hinge. With original endpapers which are splitting at the hinge at the front. Contents are sound, clean and bright. With advert for the 'Modern Parish Officer' bound at the rear.
