"Nach den Orten alphabetisch geordnet, undmit kurzen statistischen Nachrichten versehen." Part of the series Geographisch-Technologisches Handbuch für reisende Kaufleute. Armorial bookplate on front fixed endpaper of Edward B. Krumbhaar. E.B. Krumbhaar (1882-1966) taught applied pathology at the University of Pennsylvania from 1927 to 1942, was a distinguished cardiac physician, and was one of the founders of the American Association of the History of Medicine. Former owner's name written along fore-edge of title page: L? Krumbhaar. A fascinating look at German-speaking parts of Europe at the beginning of industrialization. Very scarce. In Good Condition: lacking about half of the leather over the spine; boards are rubbed; pages are lightly brown but clean and tight.

Very good- set of 51 Roman landscape plates in the original paper wraps.In the early 19th century, Italian publishers rushed to bring out collections of views of Rome for the tourist market.Engraved title page with vignette of the Capitoline Wolf and different title, Raccolta delle Principali Veduti di Roma e suoi Contorni, 50 copperplate engravings of ancient Roman ruins and modern scenes drawn by famous artists and engraved on copper by Alessandro Moschetti.Views include the Trevi Fountain, Saint Peter's Square, Spanish Steps, the Vatican, exterior and interior of the Pantheon and the Colosseum, plazas, temples, triumphal arches, cathedrals, etc.Alessandro Moschetti (or Mochetti) was active in Rome from 1843-1864 and engraved many books of Roman views.Oblong quarto, original green printed wraps with some loss on spine, covers grubby, good impressions of the copperplates, a few with light foxing within the plate.

Gray stapled wrappers printed white, with large oval cut into front wrapper to reveal a photo of the hotel. [32] pp., including 6 pp. of text, the remainder containing halftones from photographs, 1 per page. 5.75 by 7.75 inches (14.9 by19.8 cm). Near fine with only a spot on the "G" of Leesburg and a hint of age-toning as flaws.. Scarce promotional brochure made up primarily of pictures, ranging from orange groves to alligators, with much hunting and fishing in between. Oblong; 4.25 by 6 inches (11x15.3 cm); A hint of foxing to wrappers, slight rust to staples; A very good collectible item.. Early promotional brochure for Daytona's Palmetto Hotel, touted as having "a most desirable location on the river side of the city, facing the Halifax, which at this point is nearly a mile in width. It is a pleasant house with large parlors, comfortable chambers and broad piazzas." Five of the photographic illustrations with imprint of Harris, Daytona, in the negative. The hotel received its name because it was originally thatched with palmetto leaves. Later called the Colony Hotel. No copies are listed in OCLC/WorldCat.

Hardcover bound in original full taupe publisher's cloth. The binding has been rebacked with the original spine laid down and with the corners reinforced. New endpapers. A sound copy; the binding is a little tight. Text is toned. Complete with the frontis portrait and a large folding color map. A piece of paper (the 20th century binder's notes) were taped onto the Dedication page resulting in browning on that page and the facing page. This shows up a bit on the title page as well.
